Son Carrió is a small town (approx. 1,000 inhabitants) in the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar on the eastern coast of Mallorca. The closest beaches are Sa Coma and Cala Millor, both of them just around 7 kilometres away. Sa Coma and Cala Millor are the largest and liveliest resorts on the east coast of Mallorca. They are very popular areas offering all the ingredients necessary for a relaxing holiday by the sea. The amazing beaches have fine sand gently sloping into clear water, holidays in Cala Millor very much focus on the superb long sandy Cala Millor beach with its pleasant waterfront promenade, this beach is considered one of the finest beaches in the island. There is also a palm lined promenade runs along the length of Sa Coma beach to S'Illot, once an old fishing village, which retains a more traditional atmosphere. Sa Coma and S'Illot are joined by a footbridge which crosses a lagoon. On the outskirts of Sa Coma there is the Auto Safari Zoo. Not far from the area are Drach's Caves in the lovely fishing town of Porto Cristo which are a major tourist attraction. Evenings in Sa Coma are fairly low key reflecting the popularity of the resort with families however, if you are looking for a bit more lively atmosphere, then head towards Cala Millor.
Manacor, the second biggest city in the island is also just a short drive away from Son Carrió (approx. 13 kilometres), here you will find a complete offer of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Manacor has one of the busiest street markets on the island, held every Monday morning. Manacor is famous for its factories of furniture and its pearls.
