The almond tree (or "amatller" in Mallorquin) is  deeply rooted in the culture and way of life of the Majorcans. You will find almond trees all over the island but there are two areas standing out from the rest, one is the south face of the Tramuntana mountains with the towns of Bunyola, Santa María, Sencelles, Lloseta, Selva, Alaró to name a few and on the other side of the island in the municipalities of Manacor, Sant Llorenç and Son Servera on the east of Mallorca.

But almond trees are not just a pleasure for the eyes, the Majorcan almond is famous for its special features and sweetness, roasted, fried, blanched or in any of the desserts using them as main ingredient in the gastronomy of Mallorca.
