Deià is undoubtedly one of the most cosmopolitan and villages in Mallorca with visitors and residents coming from all over the world. The English poet, novelist, and scholar, Robert Graves, was one of the first foreigners to settle Deià, Graves returned after the war and remained in Deià until his death, he used the town as the setting for many of his stories. Times have changed but Deià remains a hot spot for celebrities from all society's sector such as the businessman Richard Branson or music stars like Mick Jagger, Mark Knopfler or Mike Oldfield.

Galleries and workshops jostle amidst bars, cafes and some very renowned restaurants on the town's steep cobblestone streets. For a dip in the sea, head down to Cala Deià, a lovely pebble beach with pristine waters ideal for snorkelling. Just a short drive away from Deià, the towns of Valldemossa, Soller, Puerto de Soller or the "postcard hamlet" of Llucalcari are well worth visiting.
