Deià is a small coastal village on the northern ridge of Mallorca. Located halfway between Valldemossa and Sóller and it is known for its literary and musical residents. Its idyllic landscape, orange and olive groves on steep cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean. The English poet and novelist, Robert Graves, was one of the first foreigners to settle in the village, Graves came back after the war and remained in Deià until his death, he used the town as the setting for many of his stories. Cala Deià is a pebbly beach excellent for snorkelling, the beach is pretty small, just around 40 metres long and 15 wide. There is also a restaurant serving fresh fish.
